Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: Best Star Wars Movie?

Isaiah Vigil, Writer

As someone who has been a Star Wars fan my entire life I understand the next few words I am going to say will cause a lot of backlash and hate from other hardcore Star Wars fans, but it has to be said. I like Revenge of the Sith better than Empire Strikes Back. I know I know Empire is widely considered to be the best Star Wars movie and one of the best movies of all time, with some of the best characters, action, story development, and the most iconic reveal in cinema history. But I Still think Revenge of the Sith is better.

Characters and acting

It is no secret that the dialog and acting in ROTS was lacking, but that is not at the fault of the actors. Ewan Mcgregor, Natalie Portman, Samuel L Jackson, even Hayden Christianson, all great actors that were held back by poor directing and scripting. For example look at Samuel L Jackson, an actor famous for his work in movies like the avengers, pull fiction, glass, and many many other movies. A very talented actor that was hurt by bad directing. Another prime example of how good the acting was is late in the movie when Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christianson) is reflection on what he should do, does he do as he is told by the council and stay put. or does he go and help Palpatine (Ian Mcdiarmid)  to save his wife Padme (Natalie Portman) . during this scene there is no dialogue, just music. but you can clearly see the inner struggle that Anakin is going through.

Action

Revenge of Sith has some of the best action in all of the Star Wars franchise. The opening 25 minutes of the movie are an action fans dream, it opens up with a very long long-take that starts off with what you would think of as two space ships flying peacefully by, then all of a sudden the make a turn and end up in an extremely large space battle. The action is great as both side (the Republic and Separatist) battle it out. ships are flying around, massive battleships are going at it, and after all that we are rewarded with the first lightsaber fight of the movie. That brings us to the next point, the lightsaber fights. the Fights in this movie was unmatched, the choreography of the fights are the best of all 9 movies, and the acting during the fights are among the best. the most famous fight scene from ROTS was easily the fight between Anakin and Obi-wan. The choreography, the acting, the emotion, and the music. easily makes it the best lightsaber fight in all of Star Wars.

In conclusion I honestly believe that Revenge of the Sith is not only the most underrated Star Wars movie, but it is also the best Star Wars movie out right now.
