Spring is here. And with that means the beginning of spring sports. The best of which being baseball. Baseball is currently the defending state champions ion the tapps 3A division. After winning g the title in 2019 and there being no state tournament in 2020 we look forward to our odds in 2021. With several ties to the state championship team and several transfers the team is ready to compete. NCHS has a lot to look forward to on the baseball field. With new names and faces such as Chance Weddington and Isaiah Vigil, and several freshman the future is bright. Baseball is now in its district portion of the season. Early in the season cypress christian will be the most difficult competition. Whoever wins this series will win the district as well. This season is  important to northland as a core group of seniors is nearing the end of their high school baseball career. This being the case many juniors have to play at peak performance heading into next year. Baseball is not the most popular Northland sport, although is is the most successful one. When opponents in our district think of Northland baseball it is not just walk in the park. It is no easy win. These first 3 games are big influencers in the res of northlands destiny. Will this be the the second consecutive state title for the cougars? Baseball unlike many other sports is not so dependent on talent, and more dependent on team work. A good team is way better than a team with three or four good players. A group of boys who come together to win, make the best sort of team. Baseball is an interesting sport, but the best one none the less. So this year make sure to cheer on Northland baseball.
