What Easter Means to Me

Isaiah Vigil, Writer

As someone who has grown up in a very religious household Easter has always been one of our favorite holidays to celebrate. Its the day we get to celebrate Jesus dying for our sins and then his resurrection. But that isn’t the only special thing about Easter. To me Easter means so much more. Family, friends, and most importantly Easter egg hunts. Why is family so important? Well, growing up in a Hispanic house I was taught that family comes before any and everything. and we will use any and every excuse we can get our hands on to get together. So whenever Easter comes around it is the perfect time for the whole family to get together after church and enjoy a fun day of barbeque, games, and just good times. One of the other big reasons Easter is such a big deal to me and my frailly is of course the faith aspect of the whole thing. without it there would be an Easter. also, there is nothing like the feeling on Easter morning, dressing up in your best Easter clothes and getting ready for that Sunday service, knowing what is waiting for you when you get back home. The service is usually one of the best of the year (next to the Christmas service of course) and the whole atmosphere is just unmatched. And last is just the fun that comes wit heister. arguably theĀ  most fun holiday of thaw year, just a great time to spend with friends and family. and that is what Easter means to me.
