A Ranking of the Best Fruits

There are many types of fruit that are commonly eaten in the United States and the International Fresh Produce Association says that 63% of Americans buy bananas and 56% of Americans buy strawberries. However, I think the ranking of popular fruits differs from the fruit with the best taste and quality. AgriPlastics says, “The fruit most consumed in the United States is the banana, or plantains it is known in other countries.” So, here is my ranking of the best common fruits found in grocery stores in the United States.

The best fruit are strawberries- only if they are in season, of course. With their perfect snacking size and sweet flavor there is a big reason why so many people love strawberries. Christopher Bowden says, “I love strawberries because they taste really good and are great to just grab and go.” WebMD also says, “Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which help reduce the risk of serious health conditions like cancer, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. It’s also an excellent source of: Magnesium. Phosphorous.” With all of these benefits there is no reason why strawberries shouldn’t be your favorite fruit.

Next are blueberries, with there great flavor and ability to add to deserts, they are a great all around fruit. Blueberries are great to add to muffins and other deserts. Mirielle Canovas says, “I love the bring blueberries for lunch and adding them to my muffins I make.”

A few honorable mentions could go to bananas for their ability to be taken anywhere and great flavor, grapes for their sweet summer flavor and ability to be frozen, and watermelon for their distinctly, unique, crisp texture and flavor that resembles sitting on a beach on a hot summer day!
