F.B.I Investigating Russia and Its Correlation with Election

March 22, 2017

The F.B.I director James Comey announced on Monday to investigate whether President  Trump’s campaign has a correlation with Russia. In his announcement, he states that F.B.I is going to investigate all the Russian involvement in the election “including assassinations”.

President Trump has insisted that the statement “Russia is fake news” is cooked up by his opponent in the election to undermine his presidency; on the other hand, President Trump also stated that he was wiretapped by his predecessor during the election, which was claimed untrue by Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency.

Other news organizations had tried to report Russian’s involvement in the election but the require was dismissed by White House by what they claim as “politically motivated and rallied political allies to rebut them”. Mr. Comey’s testimony became the first time the public acknowledge the case.

The F.B.I. discloses its investigations only in rare circumstances, when officials believe it is in the public interest. “This is one of those circumstances,” Mr. Comey said. Mr. Comey also said the F.B.I. was “investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”
