Basketball season is right around the corner here at Northland Christian School. This year’s team is going to be very different from last year’s, but with a coaching staff as great as ours, this season is sure to be a success!

“The team is very excited to build on last years success, even though we lost a lot of starters we got some guys that are ready to step up and take bigger responsibilities. We are not gonna be as tall of a team as we were last year, so the formula for success is gonna have to be to play fast and play to our skill and intelligence rather than our size. It’s a great group of young men, they love playing together and we are all really excited to start practice on October 30th.” – Coach Van Hook, head coach for basketball. 

Justin Gilliland, a sophomore on the varsity team, says that, “The upcoming season looks like it’s gonna be a good season. We’ve gotten one new guy and that’s Kaylen, a Senior transfer. All of our starters last year were seniors who have now graduated, so we have old and new guys on varsity now stepping up and ready to play. I think our team will be winning a lot of games and our goal is to get back to the state tournament like last year.

This season will definitely be different but still new and successful. Everyone’s looking forward to watching our guys work hard and push through all the way to state!
