Lights? Check. Fans? Check. Cougars? Check. Things seemed to fall into place last friday night for the Cougars, taking on the Concordia Crusaders in a “Remember the Titans” style gameplay. The game took place on the Crusaders field, and with the lights blaring and the fans cheering, the cougars took the field with what would turn out to be a spectacular game.

With their impressive 35-21 away game victory, the cougars now seem to have banded together more than ever. Many believe that there is something unseen to the naked eye about this team. Team member Jackson Fordyce believes “The Cougs could go all the way this year, as long as we keep our minds right.”  They seem to be playing for each other and not for themselves, and this is just the thing that coach David Nelson has been teaching these boys.

No serious injuries for the Cougars occurred during the game, except for our quarterback, Michael Massarella, who lost half of his tooth during the game. I tried to get a quick interview, but sadly, he left with no comment, most likely because he was unable to speak. The Cougars now have a win, but lets hope they they stay humble, and hungry for their next upcoming home game against the Hitchcock Bulldogs.
