Random Acts of Kindness

Random+Acts+of+Kindness

The 9th grade class got together with their 9th grade bible teacher Mrs. Marble and spread the message of kindness to the middle schooler these last two block days; and as one of the participants in these random acts of kindness, I can personally say that it was pretty refreshing to get our heads out of the books for a moment and actually show what we’ve been talking about this year.

The day began with Mrs. Marble briefing the class with what the agenda was for the day. Her class began their acts of human kindness with the spreading the love in the form of sugar cookies for all the middle schoolers attending lunch.

When all the middle schoolers were given there share of cookies, the class headed back for some of Marbles Famous Pancakes (which were pretty good in my opinion).

After this, we had chance to close out the day and give all the teachers a note that showed them how much we do care about them. This was my favorite part, because we don’t often express our actual feelings towards out teachers and sometimes we find it difficult to do so. Writing them down and just saying the things we want to say without actually doing so really helped my classmates and I tell them what makes them matter to us and how much we really do take there hard work for granted sometimes. The whole day ended with us handing out the cards that we wrote and taping them to the doors of the people we wrote to.

What I took away from this experience was that; although it may be hard to take your self out of your comfort zone, being kind and showing random acts of kindness to people you wouldn’t think of conversing with is always worth it.
