How social media influence people

During these quarantine days, when I finish my school work, I spend the most time on social media.

I used to think of social media as a pastime, but now it seems more like a tool. Thousands of videos and articles are posted every day. They represent thousands of opinions. Most people can’t distinguish between right and wrong. Most of them just listen, without thinking and believe what they saw on social media. Therefore, some people take advantage of this and use social media to create some fake news or topics to manipulate public opinion.

For example, some media said that the coronavirus was actually similar to influenza and had little impact on people, so quarantine is unnecessary. The government wants people to stay at home for another reason. Some people believe that and are starting to play up this conspiracy theory.
