Game 2 of the World Series Recap

Rays even World Series with big Game 2 win

Evan Rebhorn, Writer

Last night in Arlington, with the Rays down a game in the World Series, it was a must-win for them in order to stay in the series and not fall behind 0-2 in the series. Tampa had been absent of its bats in Game 1  and desperately needed a breakout game from one of their offensive stars. Fortunately, this is exactly what Tampa got, including a solid performance out of one of their top starters.

Brandon Lowe, who went 2-5 with two homers yesterday, was a big factor in the win, as his inning homer would automatically give the Rays the momentum they needed. They also got a solid night out of Manuel Margot, who went 2-3, and Joey Wendle, who went 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Blake Snell, the starter, pitched 4 2/3 innings of 2 run ball while striking out an impressive 9 batters, and gave the Rays a solid outing before leaving the game, letting the bullpen take care of the rest. While the Dodgers got 2 runs off of them, the bullpen was able to hold it down and keep the lead for the Rays.

Today, both teams will attempt to take a 2-1 series lead, with a brilliant pitching matchup that consists of Charlie Morton for the Rays and Walker Buehler for the Dodgers.
