The Happiest Time of the Year

The Christmas and New Years seasons are always an extremely fun time. It is a time for family and fun. During the holidays you catch up with family and friends that you have not seen or do not get to see that often. Everybody has their own opinion on what the holidays mean to them. Some do not like them at all. They do not even want to see family, or they just want to stay home. I don’t see how they do that. The holidays for me are some of the most fun times of the year.

Over the Christmas season, and New Year’s, I got to spend time with the people I love. I got to see family and friends. I got to visit my grandparents and see my great-grandmother who lives all the way in Midland, Texas so obviously, there is a distance to travel. That shows how much she loves us and wants to see us though. I had the opportunity to see cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was a wonderful time. We laughed, joked, ate, and had a fun time. We opened presents from everyone and just gathered as a family.

It is good to gather as a family. It forces you to remember where you came from. It is important to see the people who should matter the most. Sometimes we get lost in our everyday lives and forget to talk to or see our family. The holidays make time for that. In the midst of our busy lives, we can see the people who matter the most to us.
