Its been made clear that 2k21 next and current gen are both very bad games. no one expected 2k21 current gen to be amazing but they also didn’t expect the start of the demo to be as bad as it was. My friend anthony says that If you looked at the myplayer builder from 2k21 and compared it to 2k20 a new player wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.. I agree with him but this is not even the worst part In the myplayer builder you could only play 5 games and to top it all off the court was identical to the court in 2k20 for that myplayer builder. Agent 00 (a popular 2k youtuber) states “it’s literally like they didn’t even try. straight up copy and paste”. there are more things that are also not to like about the game like how there are no variety in the player builds. what I mean is everyone made the same builds like paint beast or play shots. This is because the creators of 2k made it hard for players to shoot with low 3pt ratings so you either made a playmaking 3pt shooter or a big man that cant shoot at all. this made that 2k get boring real fast so that’s why it failed now on to next gen.

Now Next Gen they got a lot more creative they gave us affiliations back along with a new myplayer builder. But even with all this there still are some downfalls such as the myplayer builder allows every build to get contact dunks which I think is personally bad for the game. Just like with current gen 2k everyone made the same build. unlike where current gen forced everyone to make the same build by limiting others. Next gen forced everyone to make the same build due to the restrictions being lifted. and then the park is bad also it is too big everyone plays the same people due to the large amount of players allowed in one neighborhood. also the game went too far on minimizing the skill gap in the game such as making Ante Up only for events. Instead of a place for competitive players to play each other.
