“Spread the word all across the nation, we are going to be a great generation”, says 9 year old Yolanda Renee King, granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr. On Saturday March 24 more than 1 million people marched for their lives on the streets of Washington D.C. The goal of students, teachers and parents around the nation in support of gun reform, is to fight for they lives before it becomes someone else’s job. The march had three main demands, to pass a law that bans assault weapons, stop the sale of high capacity-magazines and implement background checks on all gun purchases.

The march brought people to tears by the many students that spoke who were directly affected by the Parkland shooting or any kind of gun violence. Celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Lin Manuel Miranda and Miley Cyrus performed songs dedicated to the cause. There was also many celebrity appearances who are in support of the movement too.

Because of the amazing outcome, people and politicians everywhere are aware that the kids leading the movement are serious about this cause. Enough is enough for everyone who is against gun violence and now is the time for change.
