An Exciting Season

The Houston Astros are arguably still the best team in the MLB, even after winning the 2017 World Series. They have shown no signs of slowing down; only getting better. In the offseason they signed, Pirate’s ace pitcher, Gerrit Cole. With the way Houston has started off the 2018 season they look even better than the team that beat the Dodgers in the World Series.

In the offseason coming off of a huge 2017 year, including a World Series title, the Astros acquired an all-star pitcher in Gerrit Cole. In his first start as an Astro he went 7 innings with only 1 run given up. When the Astros traded for him that just made them that much better. With an already unbelievable pitching staff adding Cole could solidify the Astros as the best pitching staff in the MLB. The start to the 2018 season has been outstanding. The Astros are 6-1, and are first in the AL West. Coming off series wins against the Rangers and the Orioles; Houston is showing its dominance against others. There is not a hole in the lineup. It is as if every player can hit. With George Springer, Jose Altuve, and Carlos Correa many people would not think there would be much more hitters. But with Alex Bregman, Josh Reddick, Yuli Gurriel, and many more the Astros are a threat to any team in the league.

Houston is looking for another World Series title to bring home to the city. They brought many people joy in a hard time for the city when they won the World Series. This year looks like they could bring that same joy again. The whole front office, coaches, and players sure show they want it, and they are showing that they have a really good shot.
