Figuring Things Out With Marshall
That Time of Year
February 8, 2019
School in the month of February can be a grueling time. It seems as if the workload will never end, and there is nothing you can do. You can either keep grinding away, or give up and fail. At this point in the year it is too early too think about the end of school, and too late to think that you have just started. One thing to keep in mind is that it will end at some point. You just have to take it one day at a time.
The workload in the middle of the year is a boatload. The teachers give you more than you think you can handle because you have been learning for about six months now. If you are in AP classes it only gets harder. Senior, Melanie Talley, says that her hardest class is statistics. “It only makes it harder when psychology and english homework are piled on top of that.” This is extremely hard for seniors because they are often affected with senioritis. On the flip side of things, with the freshman, Sophia Eaton says that her hardest class is biology. She says that it is, “just a confusing subject”. No matter what grade or classes you are in, the middle of the school year is a grind.
Whether it is english, science, statistics or biology, the workload and the mindset never change. You are always thinking “this will never end”. The mindset that you need to keep is take care of this one worksheet, this one test, this one quiz, and it will all work out. Just know that there is an end, and that if you keep grinding away then you will be fine.
