Peyton Fennelly Injured but Ready for Recovery
September 5, 2019
Three weeks ago, the football team played their first game of the year. Senior Peyton Fennelly was hit by a player and was injured instantly. The people in the stands immediately began to pray and hope for the injury to not be too drastic. If it was serious, he would not be able to play any sports his last year of high school.
Soon enough, we got the results. After an MRI confusion, the doctors announced the injury as a torn MCL. At first, the scan showed vague signs of an injury in the ACL, which would have meant months of recovery. Thankfully, the MCL injury will only be a recovery of 8-10 weeks, and Peyton is optimistic to get through it!
We asked Fennelly what keeps him so hopeful for recovery, and he said, “I know God will work it out however it needs to be. He is what gives me peace and hope.” Fellow teammate and close friend, Marshall Ingram, comments on the injury. “It’s very sad and unfortunate for him and the team. I am optimistic he will be ready in the estimated recovery time!” All attitudes are hopeful in concern to Peyton’s injury. Don’t worry, he’ll be back for basketball!
