The Brady Bunch
Corona Time
April 19, 2020
Coronavirus started back in December in China. Ever since, that has pretty much been the big discussion around the globe. I don’t see any signs of that changing anytime soon. I am fed up with being on “lockdown” and think things need to change now.
Coronavirus targets a lot of people. The majority of severe cases are seen in older people and people with pre-existing conditions. The symptoms are similar to the cold, flu, and even allergies. The symptoms are pretty much just a fever and a cough. Some people do not even show symptoms. That is why this virus can be so dangerous. However, the US cannot continue to stay shut down. It is destroying the economy.
It is time for the shelter in place to be lifted. Gas is the lowest it has been in a long time. Restraunts, small businesses, and other places are going bankrupt. People need to see the nation get back up on its feet. I hate to see the numbers of people dying but we see those numbers with the flu every year and that is a fact. It is time to open up the doors to businesses and get this country back on track. Texas will lead the way.

Great article Brady.
It’s been a while since you posted this article so many things have transpired since. My opinion is definitely the unpopular one in the current situation. I believe that people have become sheeple in many ways and as a society who loves to question everything we sure have become very gullible.

Great pictures and graphs! It’s a well-written article and I agree that we need to find a way to reopen our economy to help people while also putting better protections in place to help the workers even working now. We are seeing the highest unemployment since the Great Depression and we are on the path to economic collapse if something doesn’t happen. I think we need to be very careful and still stay away from large crowds from the time being, especially since anyone can get very sick and die from the coronavirus. Any respiratory disease is no joke. It is a pain to miss out on our senior year, but it is worth it if we can save lives.

I like your honesty here. 🙂
This has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while now… You know. There’s not much else do to but sit and think. Yes the really severe cases tend to be linked with the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions but what does that mean for those that are young and healthy? Are we invincible? As my wife likes to tell me all the time, we aren’t invincible. We never think to wonder what would happen if we got sick? Who could we infect?
Kim has helped me think of those that are suffering. Businesses have suffered and that really sucks. We’ve done our best to go out and at least support small restaurants locally because we would want the same support if we owned that business during hard times like this. We have also tried our best by doing everything recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of the virus to those more susceptible to get sick. What is scaring people is the unknown and newness factor of it.
But what do I know? I love staying far away from people, working online, and being able to spend time at home with my wife. 🙂

That is a great way to look at it Kroger! We are definitely not all invincible. Some continue to think they are until something actually happens to them. Just wish I could snap my fingers and everything would be normal again but unfortunately that is not the case. 🙁

Positive economic impacts that would come as a result of opening the economy right now are negligible when it means vulnerable people could face death.
