The varsity cougars took on the Emery Wiener Jaguars this past Tuesday, and both boys and girls won. Both hard foght games, the both teams needed to win to secure a good seed for playoffs.

The varsity girls, started off the game fast, with a goal from Taylor Hatley, resulting in a shootout from both teams. With goals from Taylor Hatley, Emily Herman, and Elle White, the ending score was 4-2. A very tough fought game, but a good win for the lady cougars.

The varsity boys game was a fight throughout the whole game. The cougars took and early 2-0 lead with goals from Hunter Pace, and Johnny Oloh, but the cougars seemed to let up just a little to soon. The jaguars also scored a quick two goals just before the half, worrying the cougars as they went into half time. With a great halftime speech by Coach Norwood, the cougars came out to win the game 5-3 with goals by Johnny Oloh, Brady Abt, and Corbin Fontana. With this win, the Cougars secured the third spot in the playoffs, and will most likely travel up to San Antonio to play in the first round of the playoffs.

With another great win by the cougars, they will travel up to the Village, this Thursday for their last regular season game. This is just another reason to support the sports.
