How it heals

Emma Sims

As a kid you probably have fallen off your bike, fell down, or even gotten paper cuts. When you cut yourself it causes your to bleed, but have you ever wondered how it heals. It is a process called clotting. It stops fluids and blood from leaking out. Then after it produces a hard crusty brown thing called a scab. It protects your wound from infection and gives your skin cells underneath to have time to heal. A small wound usually takes about 5 days to a week to heal. A 1 centimeter deep cut takes about 1 to 2 weeks just because it has done more damage. To clean you cut simply soak it in saline solution or water and gently with a cloth dab it off your skin. Gently then dry your cut with a towel. Do not use a cotton ball or anything where strands of material can get stuck. After that you put on a bandaid and your good to go.
