13 kids held hostage by their own parents

For those of you who don’t know about this devastating event, the story goes as follows. Louise and David were parents of THIRTEEN children in a California home, often called, ‘The House of Horrors’. They are known to have moved several times as well as being a very quiet, weird, and conserved family. But what you don’t know about this family is quite shocking. Louise and David are alleged to have abused their kids. Their kids range from the ages 2-29! That is a pretty big gap. Though, when they were found by police the kids were malnourished, looking younger than their actual age, and tied to their beds. The only escape from their reality for these kids were journals they were allowed to write in.

So, how did these kids/adults get rescued? Luckily, one of the girls, decided to escape out a window and used a deactivated phone to call 9-1-1. The girl then reported to police about what was going on in this house and showed pictures as evidence. It was not long before her parents were arrested and her siblings were liberated.

For some of these kids it was normal to be abused because that’s all they know and how they were raised.

One source says,

“They were born into this. This was normal for them. Some of them may not even realize they’ve been abused,” she said. “These children have been living in isolation so they only know what they know.”
