Emily Yu, writer

The 2018 olympic winter game started in Korea, and there are more and more young and great athletes beging to join the international sports games. Yuzuru Hanyu is one of them and he a is a Japanese figure skater.

Yuzuru Hanyu was born on December 7, 1994, in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He is a really cute and handsome boy with dark hair and black hair. The most surprising thing is he is a two times Olympic champion of 2014 and 2018. He is one of the greatest skaters in the world. He is the youngest male skater since Dick Button in 1948, and he is also the second person who win two consecutive Olympic gold medals after Dick Button. But behind his success, there are many difficulties and challenges.

He began to skate when he was 4 with his sister. At first, he felt it is too difficult to keep balance on the ice, so he did not really want to learn it. Then he saw his sister was skating really beautifully and fast; he realized he wanted to be a skater and got better and better. He has said during the interview: he has story emulation, and he wants to attract others’ eyes.

Before the Olympic game began in 2018, he practiced so hard; he tried to turn 4 rounds in air. And during the practice, he hurt his right foot, so it was really hard to practice for him. But he never gave up and still skates everyday. Although his blood was on the ice, he still bear the hurt and skated, because of his dream and goal. Finally, he became a famous and great skater. He skated perfect without any mistakes during Olympic game.

He is not only a good athlete, but also a good citizen. As we know, in Japan earthquakes are very common. So Yuzuru Hanyu’s hometown also was destroyed, and many people became really poor. He raised money for them. He helps them a lot and tried to save his hometown.

He is a good skater and a nice boy. He still practices everyday, even harder and harder. He knows how difficult making his dream come true is, so he never gives up and continues to set new records.
