What’s Up With Prom?

With two months left for the seniors, prom is to be one of the last highlights of the year. This year, Northland is hosting a “High School Musical” theme for the Junior/Senior Prom. I think the best thing about Prom is that it’s going to be at the Aquarium downtown which I think is awesome. I personally think this will be the best dance Northland has hosted because it’s not in a stagnant area like a banquet hall with food and with a mediocre dance floor. No, Prom will be downtown and the area is lit up at night with the colorful lights and you can see fish swimming around, the food is gonna be pretty good (honestly it depends how picky you are) there’s gonna be rides and all kinds of stuff to explore. Also I heard the DJs are going to be the same as last year which is good because they’re college aged kids and they play our “teen fun music” (even though Northland doesn’t approve).  I have to say, though, I am not a big fan of the High School Musical theme because I never really liked their movies (because of the bad acting, an “eh” storyline, and auto-tuned singing) , call me a hater, but oh well. This is not the point, either way prom is going to be fun because it’s what you make of it and all the other aspects of it.

Though, there is one problem. In previous years, everyone at Northland has had off the day of prom. This year is different because we don’t have the day off 🙁 Which honestly stinks because it’s nice to have a day off before a tiring/fun night. For girls specifically, they like to get ready and do all this preparation (not everyone) and some people just having time spread out so there is time to get ready before the big event (like me).

What are we to do when we have no day off and have to go to school on Friday? Well, honestly nothing can be done. Actually that’s not true, you can look at the situation in two different ways. One, you can either not come to school on Friday or at least have a half day and leave during lunch or two, be a trooper and be at school all day long, so they’ll be no absence and missed school work 🙂

Either way you decide to choose, prom will hopefully be a fun night for you! I mean come on, it’s one of our last times together as Juniors and especially Seniors. Might as well make the most of it.
