Teenagers Need More Sleep

Teenagers+Need+More+Sleep

Teenagers today have some of the busiest schedules in the world, especially if they are involved with extracurricular activities. Obviously some are not very busy, but most are involved with sports, choir, theater, debate, and much more. Teens need more sleep than the average person. They are growing, and have a lot of things over their head. By the time they come home from all of their activities, they are exhausted.

Teens are often swarmed with schoolwork, sports, extracurricular activities, and much more. They get home late, and then have to do homework. By the time they are done with the things on their schedule they want to have freetime. This is not the best thing for their sleep schedule, but they need a break. By the time they go to bed it is often early in the morning. This turns into a bad routine for them. It turns into a pattern where they sleep in school, and stay up all night. The average teen should get 8-9 hours of sleep every night. They’re not getting near that when going to sleep at 2, and wake up at 6.

If teenagers got the normal amount of sleep then they would be so much more productive. They would be in better moods which leads to better outlooks on school and activities. That would lead to better results. It does not seem like much when you talk about sleep, but when you look deep into it you can see what it leads to.
