That is a very debatable to some people, but to others, it seems like a no-brainer. One of the only reasons that some people are going to watch the Super Bowl is to watch the commercials because some people have no interest in football. It costs a lot of money to fill a 30 second spot commercial, which costs about 5 million dollars. When we compare that to other significant games, like the 2016 World Series game 7 costed just a bit over 500,000 dollars, and for the 2016 Oscars it costed roughly 2 million dollars. Now thats a lot of money for a 30 second commercial.
