Harper and Machado: An Anticipated Signing

Marshall Ingram, Editor

Bryce Harper and Manny Machado are two of the most popular players in baseball. Both of them are yet to be signed to a team though, this offseason. The MLB goes through something like this almost every offseason, but these two are different. The fact that both players are top of the line, and they both have turned down huge contract offers is insane. It seems as if they are going to have to sign somewhere soon, but the question is is where to.

Pitchers and catchers reported to spring training this week, which means that baseball season is right around the corner. Teams have added key pieces to their lineup, pitching staff and coaching staff, but there is still one question. Where are Manny Machado and Bryce Harper going to play in the 2019 season. It almost seems like they are working together on this. In the 2017-18 offseason, baseball fans watched J.D. Martinez wait till the last minute, but that was one player. It is extremely rare to see two players like this hold out on contracts. Kyle Rogers stated, “I heard about this. I think that both of them are being selfish and ignorant.” To some people Rogers is right. The fact that the Washington Nationals offered Harper $300 million and he turned it down is mind blowing to most people. Many teams have offered both players, but they are still undecided. Most predictions have Machado going to sign with the White Sox and Harper to sign with the Yankees. It is still untold, but it is exciting to see where these players will end up.

Baseball season is heating up, and everyone is still wondering where two star players are going to sign. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado can choose anywhere they want to go. The two of them are both looking for big bucks and a long term deal. They want a championship, but it is a job as well. The outcome of this game of arbitration is gold to a baseball fan.
