Rockets Season Opener (October 24, 2019)

The Houston Rockets are looking to bring a championship banner back to the city of Houston once again.  The team last one a championship back in 1995. They have had disappointing finishes in their last several seasons.  They have fallen to the Golden State Warriors the last few years and the team looks to get over that hump this year. The team has one mission and that goal is to win.

The team made some great off-season adjustments.  The loss of Chris Paul allowed us to bring on a superstar point guard.  A friend and former teammate of James Harden has joined the squad. Russel Westbrook might be the hidden piece the team has been looking for.  He is a fierce competitor. He has a special set of skills that will compliment the play of both James Harden and Clint Capela. His athletic ability will help us out on both sides of the ball.  Russel Westbrook will allow James Harden to have some more rest in games. Russell’s leadership and fight is just what this team needs.

The team opens up play against the Milwaukee Bucks.  This will be a very challenging game for both teams. Last season’s MVP, Giannis Antekoumpo, will be a force on both sides of the ball for the Bucks.  The key to the game for the Rocket’s is going to be running the floor on defense and slowing Giannis down on the fast break. If the Rocket’s force Giannis to settle and shoot the ball on offense, the team should have no problem winning.  Clint Capela needs to have a big game in the post and haul in at least 12 rebounds. Rebounds and defense will be the key to the game. The Rocket’s are naturally a good offensive team so if our shots are falling at an average rate the game will be ours.  Russell Westbrook and James Harden will finally be able to show the people of Houston what they are all about. Rise up Houston! It is going to be an exciting year. I predict that we will be attending a parade when June rolls around.
