AP Biology – Hands On Learning

Peyton Fennelly, Writer

AP is a fun and hands on class learning about the science of life. This year we have a small class of 6 people and Mrs. Downey teaches the class.

We learn all about the study of life. In the beginning of the year we learned about the chemistry of life and how chemicals interact with organisms. Then we did photosynthesis and cellular respiration. We then learned about DNA and genetics. Then how DNA is translated into proteins to be expressed as a gene.

Right now we are learning about evolution. There are many labs that we have done that have shown the things that we have learned about. The class is very interesting and anyone can take it because everyone needs a science credit in college.
