“Say Their Name” Traveling Memorial Now Open
On Tuesday Morning, at Emancipation Park, a traveling memorial that honors 200 Black Americans whose lives were lost due to racial injustice through history has just opened. It is going to be opened till October 13th before it moves on to a different location.
One person on twitter wrote, “The Say Their Name memorial is so beautiful. But I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sadness looking all these tombstones…”
According to Click 2 Houston, “Houston rapper, activist and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth led the effort to bring the “Say Their Names” exhibit to his hometown, which was set up and unveiled Monday evening at Emancipation Park.”
