2020, a year of excitement and terrifying events! This year in the USA the 2020 presidential election was held on November 3, 2020 and  is continuing. With the election being as crazy and exciting as it is, has been going on for days now, and its because of Ballots being counted.

On Election Day the polls had me been closed and for some reason ballots where still being submitted and checked. According to NPR Donald Trump said, “We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!” From this we can see anger in Trump as ballots are being submitted after the polls are closed in Michigan and in Pennsylvania. Michigan live stated, “Discrepancies in a Northern Michigan county’s ballot count discovered early Wednesday morning has election officials there recounting them by hand.” With all the fuss that is going on with the election this year States are going back and recounting ballots for legitmacy in the number of votes, so this is slowing the process down.

According to Mackenzie Hoffman,”I think it is right for states to recount ballots to check for foul play, but I think they need to do it for Biden and Trump. Because this year was way more competitive than years in the past, there could have been foul play coming from both parties.” According to people, it is ok for states to recount ballots and check for validation to make sure states get the right votes for a fair election.

This year has been a strange roller coaster with all the weird things happening. Hopefully the election is fair, and people can except and respect the new president or the same president back into office, as he controls our nation. Overall the election is slow because of the recounting of ballots due to the suspicous acts that’s happened in Michigan and Pennsylvania, just remember everything happens for a reason.
