Last week, the Northland high school football team went off to Bay Area Christian for a scrimmage game. It was one aggressive game with Northland coming out on top with the win. It is also worth noting that the team has received a new quarterback named Brody Butler. Northland has also welcomed back a new defensive coordinator, Coach Suggs.
Junior Riley Meekins said, “I’d say the scrimmage was pretty solid but I think we should expand the playbook for week 1 to make us even better. I feel like we are gonna be better than last year as long as the team can stay together and trust each other.”
Galvis Watkins Jr added, “I feel like we have a pretty decent chance to get to the playoffs and I really like my new teammates as the new transfer. I appreciate the acceptance and trust that the team has given me. I also believe that the coaching staff has done a great job thus far getting us prepared for the season. I know big things are coming.”
With the team not having a game thing week, they have been spending time practicing for the next opponent, Legacy Prep. However, a new question arises, what happens next? I have a feeling this will be a big question through this season. From how some players sound, this year is going to get interesting.
