Homecoming is just around the corner, and there is a lot of new changes coming to this year’s hoco.
There is so much new things this year, but a big one on the Athletic’s side of things is the Powderpuff and Powderpuff games. Where the boys will play Volleyball and the Girls will play Football. Some teams have already started to practice, but the Sophomores look the most dangerous and have practiced the most for both the games.
Sophomores Practicing for the Game
This year we have some really cool dress up day ideas. Monday, you dress up from your favorite decade, and Tuesday you can dress up in camp. On Wednesday you get to come to school all comfy, because you get to wear pjs or comfy clothes. Thursday you get to dress up ad your favorite character out of anything. Friday you get to wear you Whiteout Hoco shirt, or you can just wear sprit wear.
One of the biggest changes of all is the Inaugural Hoco Parade. Each Sport will have to decorate a coco float, and show their creativity with their displays. The parade will be lead by the cheerleaders and the drum line. There will also be a prize at the end for the best decorated float. It will be an incredible new thing and a great way to celebrate 50 years at Northland
This Past Wednesday at Chapel, The Hoco Court was announced. The Freshmen Lady and Lord were Matthew Forbes, and Addison White. The sophomores with a repeat of last year as Grace McCathran and Isaac Banos get the Duke and Duchess. Junior’s two people were Makena Elswick and Jackson Leard. The six nominees for the Queen are May Dorsey, Libby Frank, Savannah Hardwick, Lorelle Henderson, MiKayla Pace, and Sami Hearn. For the boys, and the King is Tyler Bienko, Brody Butler, Carl Danso, Luke Edmonds, Jackson Lawrence, and Connor Spata.
The Homecoming Football game is taking place on Friday, September 27th, at 7:00 pm. Hopefully this time the football team has and actual close, as the last two time it has been 2 blowouts, where the game ended at or before half time.
Well this year deems to be a very promising Homecoming, with all the new things and changes it seems very fun. Hopefully these changes make the Hoco experience better.
