Orchestra Recital Set for March 7th

Wendy Jiang

Orchestra recital is on Tuesday,March 7, at 6 pm at Lanier Theological Library. The secondary students will amaze the audience and the judge with their solos and ensembles!

Orchestra students are put into small groups to worked on pieces individually, each group has their own music.Mrs.Hearn and Mr. Pancheri will go over the pieces with students during class, helping them to modify the imperfect places. Students improved quickly with the teacher’s advice and the piece sounded much better.

This time students are working in groups for the piece, they have to learn their part individually.Mrs.Hearn said:” In addition to learning their part, they need to know all of the other people’s parts as well.  Since there is no conductor, students need to cue and lead each other, and work together to weave the music together.”

Students improve a lot through this and made a lot progress. Mrs.Hearn feels the difference:”In the beginning, each student relied solely on his or her part to know the piece. Now, if you took someone else’s part away, they get confused because they understand how everything fits together.”
