Consequences of Jake/Logan Paul & of other Youtubers

What’s new in Entertainment

If you have never heard or seen of Jake and Logan Paul, then you have been living under a rock. Just kidding, but there is a lot of rage between the two internet “stars”. Why? Well, about a month ago, Logan posted a VLOG about his trip in Japan. Apparently, they went into a suicide forest and filmed somebody who has actually committed suicide. After the video was released, people had some beef about the content and took it to Twitter and in the Youtube comment section. Since there was so much hate and controversy, Logan deleted the vlog and made an apology video which they tend to do quite often. You may still be able to find the video on Youtube still, because people upload deleted videos of popular Youtubers.

So what are the consequences? Well, a bunch of hate from his “fans” and some problems with the management of Youtube. I personally can’t be a hater of the two because 1) I don’t really watch their videos and 2) I’ve never met them before, so I don’t know if they are nice people or what?

Since the Paul brothers had made it BIG on Youtube in the past year and caused lots of problems, Youtube is going to have some consequences FOR EVERYONE. Youtube is now getting rid of monetization. Basically, on Youtube you can get paid from getting ads on your video from Google Adsense , which is how your videos get monetized.

A lot of smaller Youtubers are upset about this, because they think they have no chance of growing. Without an extra pay check and their possible chance of not being able to grow, it leaves a lot of Youtubers in a rage. They think the reason why Youtube is taking it away is because of people like Jake and Logan Paul.

I read an article from The Verge, that explains the situation more clearly,

“Previously, the standard for joining YouTube’s Partner Program was 10,000 public views — without any specific requirement for annual viewing hours. This change will no doubt make it harder for new, smaller channels to reach monetization, but YouTube says it’s an important way of buying itself more time to see who’s following the company’s guidelines and disqualify “bad actors.”

Bad actors *cough* Logan and Jake *cough* (and probably some other Youtubers)

Honestly, I really can’t judge because Youtube is a place where people can make content as a creative outlet. Not only that, but Youtubers can make BANK just for making videos. I think it’s awesome! Along with Youtube taking away monetization, I think anybody can get a lot of subscribers. I know of this girl who has half a million in less than a year! Just because she was posting almost everyday and made good content! So don’t loose your hope if you want to create a channel in the future! There’s always room for new content.
