Football is one of the biggest events in Texas. No matter if it is high school, college or even professional it attracts many people. With the sport being so big fans latch themselves onto a team and try not to let go no matter what. The past couple of years, though, some Texas football fans have been disappointed. The state of Texas is split when it comes to professional football. It is between the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys have been mediocre, but the Houston Texans have been very below average. This year that has all changed though. The Texans are leading their division and have a chance to win the AFC, and the Cowboys are leading their division.

The Houston Texans are currently 9-3, and leading their division. They are tied for second place in the AFC with the Patriots, and are looking for a first round bye in the playoffs. The Cowboys are only 7-5, but are leading their division by a whole game. Both teams are on tremendous runs. Houston has won 9 straight games after starting the season 0-3, and Dallas has won their past 5 games to put them in the lead of their divisional race. With the Texans finally being healthy, people have finally been able to see the full potential of this team. With JJ Watt and Deshaun Watson playing great, and leading the team, they look to stay on course for a spot in the Super Bowl. The Cowboys have added a key piece to their puzzle in wide receiver, Amari Cooper. Since being traded from Oakland he has been one of the top receivers in the NFL. Alongside him is Ezekiel Elliot, who has lead the league in rushing these past few weeks. Both teams have been  doing all they can so far the only question is can they finish.

With both the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys playing so well, they have been some of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL. They are on unbelievable runs that nobody thought they would do when the season started. Every team’s goal is to make the Super Bowl, but not every team is good enough to make it. These two teams have shown that they are plenty good. With both teams being in different conferences there could be a matchup lined up in the Super Bowl between these two teams.
