NCS Basketball

Marshall Ingram, Editor

Northland Christian basketball has been a solid program for the past few years. They have made playoffs for four consecutive years, and are looking for a fifth this year. With many players coming through the program, and playing in college; NCS basketball has produced many good players. This year they working with a different team. With a brand new roster comes adjustments. The Cougars have been playing very good despite their height disadvantage. The Cougs are sitting with 3-5 record in non-district play, but the majority of those games are against public schools, and they have held their own.

NCS basketball made it to the second round last year, and fell to district champ Woodlands Christian. The Cougars lost vital parts of their team with the seniors. Those seniors came with Calen Holiday, Jonah Farrar, and Dallin Jensen. That means the next guy steps up. Northland is working with a different style of offense this year since their team does not have much height. It is more perimeter shots this year than scoring in the paint. Regardless the NCS is looking forward to district play, and looking for success.

Northland Christian Basketball is always fun to watch. This year will be fun too, just different. The Cougs will be more of a shooting team this year, and will be looking for success. It will be fun to watch when district comes around as NCS looks to make the playoffs.
