Thanksgiving is the time of the year families rush to get places or clean their house because family is coming. It’s like a family potluck, everyone brings Thanksgiving food…especially turkey.

In my opinion, I think Thanksgiving is the worst holiday because of the food, a lot of family coming over, and it’s just all-around stressful. I don’t like traditional food because I’m a picky eater, but the rest of my family does so I’m forced to eat it. My house is a little too small to have over as much family as we do, so everyone’s just crowded in one room which makes it so loud and it’s like a sensory overload with the sounds and smells.

According to Insider, Thanksgiving is the worse because “Chicken is way better than turkey, a lot of food goes to waste, family interrogates you at the table, it’s a tough time for vegans and vegetarians, and not to mention the mound of dirty dishes.” But according to MaKayla Ojeah, she likes Thanksgiving because “I get to see my family and help my mom cook” which can be fun helping your mom cook, but I personally don’t like seeing my whole family on one day, it gets so exhausting!

Every year on Thanksgiving we bring out my great grandmother’s fancy china that she gave us, and every year my family is terrified that one of my clumsy family members is going to accidentally drop something and break it. According to my mom, Thanksgiving is stressful because “it’s the one time every year that the entire family gets together and it is at my house. Lots of cleaning and preparation has to happen and I don’t get to really relax until everyone has left.”

In conclusion, there are many other holidays that are much better than Thanksgiving, like Christmas or Halloween. Thanksgiving has fewer pros and more cons, so I think we should get rid of it because how can we celebrate a holiday with such a horrible history to it.
